thank you ben and tom!
« on: April 01, 2008, 00:38:15 »
well it was definatly time for some brakes as when the disco failed her MOT on 35% brake effiecency!
It was defo time for some discs and pads, ben came over to point me in the right direction and do most of the work too lol!!!!

saturday
off came the wheel, then flange and then brake pipe oooops! finally got the passenger side done but minus one brake pipe(left for next time)

sunday
off with the drivers side and now the caliper wont undo [expletive deleted] so its split the caliper time [again, expletive deleted]

off come the disc and hub only for one off the bolts, not wanting to come out AT ALL! [expletive deleted] so with myself, ben and tom we drive to chris's house to collect a spare hub that belongs to ben.

we drive back from corby to bedford, only to fit the disc onto said hub attempt to bolt it up but its too long so we have to unbot every thing whilst ben and tom shatter the disc, and nearly my neighbours car window in the process!! lol

finally make up new brake hoses for both sides and bolt the disc and hub on and bleed the brakes

now by this time i wanted to set fire to my beloved landy, until the quick test drive!!
she is booked in for an MOT 10.30am Tuesday morning fingers crossed it will pass

all i can say is thank you so much to ben and tom who im eternally endebted too and owe thm a meal of there choice plus a few beers to say the least, thanks guys

also, dont let them near your truck  =; lol only joking!!! :P :P ;)

ben im sure iv forgotten bits so let the good people know what else we did lol!

cheers mate, and when tom finally gets him self on here (he is useless with computers) :tappity: he will say cheers to

no that was basically it mate

both the head lamp bulbs didnt have a pattern on there beam

the insides of the lamps have corroded, mine did it and gave a Cr4p pattern, or the bulbs are faulty

Might sound daft but .............

Check the bulbs are the right way in the lamps, have replaced loads in other cars over the years but when I did them in my first Discovery, a S1 V8, I managed to get them upside down, result was no beam pattern!

Sounds like you touched lucky getting the help you needed, seems there are some decent lads on here, credit where it's due.
