31"s will go on without a lift, and lifting it is dead simple... a set of longer spring shackles on the rear and winding up the front torsion bar lifts the front..2" is about the most you can go on the suspension although you can also go 2" on a body lift without to many problems... mind you i have heard 33"s will go on with just the suspension lift
cheers, Rob

If you put 33's on with just a suspension lift they will catch ;) 31's will go on with no modifications, as you have a Sport, i believe you can go slightly higher but not as much as 33's! The arches on a SWB are wider than a LWB, with a suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift i think you can go slightly taller than 33's, but that extra gearing wont do your engine many favours ;)
Cheers
Mark
ps Any modifications you are interested in have probably been done

Ive just got a 2" suspension lift and last week fitted 267/75/16 turbo Dakar's on they are just under 32" but when they arrived they where deffinitely bigger, all I had to do was trim the front valence to get them to fit.

There isnt an after market for frontera snorkel, you have to B+Q them with piping.
For a lift if its on coils, get some trooper heavey duty coils and I use +2 pro comp es9000 shocks all around, and the front torsion bars will need tightening up, rule of thunb 4 turns = one inch lift, dont go over two inches on the torsion bar wind up as you will loose to much suspension down travel.
If the rear has leaf's get some extended shackles.
Cost should be around £90 for a pair of coils £40 each for shocks.
You can go Calmini lift but this starts getting expensive up to around £600 for parts.
Will do Paul, should be out soon

This one is off a Mitsubishi Pajero ;)
And i think it fits very well! May not fit a sport as good though as the front wings are a little more flared than a LWB
Cheers

The saffari snorkel wont fit a sport, as stated the wings flare out to much, you could make it fit but it wouldnt look good as it will be extremley difficult to get flush to the wing.
All depending how deep you want to go ? will you be developing a full off road car with no carpets ect ? or just needing a bit more confidence that you wont kill the engine while laning or pay and play, if thats he case a simple air intake modification might be all thats needed.
The stock air intake is in an awfull place in my opinion, its under the wheel arch behind the splash panel.
Oh and damp carpets smell of mingin dog... believe me

How badly do the sport ones not fit then? there are options for modyfying a plastic moulding such as that.

The sports have a big flare on the wing that is quite pronounced, but thinking about it, you can fit lwb wings onto the swb, as the lwb wings are no where near as flared, then you would get results like the pics above, Ill get a pic of the swb wing when I get home, I should have one somewhere
You might make it out on this pic of mine from a while ago ( not me driving )

Drift, from what i can see you have different wings to 666 anyway :-k
Do the SWB have bigger tyres then if they have flared arches?

Thats my old swb, Ive now got the lwb, the tyres stock are the same, you cant really go much bigger than 31" on both with out a lift or a good bit of trimming, though the front on the sport has more room the IFS doesnt flex that much :(

With just a suspension lift on a frontera "A" you will get nothing more than 32's in at best! Put a body lift on with a suspension lift you can go to 33's easily! Do an axle conversion like mine and you can put 33's on a lwb but get away with 35's on a swb due to the larger arches (as shown below) ;) Note, niether of the vehicles below have a body lift

All early A's (up to 95 i think) came with 15 inch rims as standard and tyre sizes as stated above
