Bang ! in reverse
« on: April 03, 2008, 21:43:43 »
So i've had my 300 Tdi auto for 6 months and since I've had it I've noticed an odd thing about reverse.

If i put it in reverse and go slowly all is fine (smooth) but if I put in reverse and push the pedal quite hard it starts off slowly and then after a knock and a jerk (all in one) it goes noticably faster. Any idea what could be causing that???

Everything is very smooth going forward.

Thanks,

David

Chek the level and quality of the oil, if at all suspect then change it.  You may also want to think about swapping the filter screen as if it's never been done it could really use it.

Chances are the hydrauliuc pressure is a bit low or the pump a bit worn, so it's not engaging unitll you rev the engine.  If a good oild oil change makes no improvement then you need to see a specialist.
