Great, shall we open a book on the peak price of fuel in the next 3 months then?

£2 a litre anyone?

I can't see the demand for fuel slowing so it'sll have to be brought in by road from the south and Europe, though I imagine Gordon is sweating about how much more tax revenue he's not going to have to squander.

I've just filled up for tomorrows Laning, £50 from half a tank...!!!! I for one am seriously feeling the pinch with the increased fuel prices lately. If things get much worse I may be forced to change my beloved Disco... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Speaking of government money grabbing. Just found out that they donated 60 million to flood relief after last years floods. but made an extra 170 million in VAT payments from all the repair work that's been carried out. So a 110million pound earner for GB then.

Being marred (sorry, married!) to a Scot, that would mean the in-laws would be on the other side of a big wall...... Hmmmmm. I can do a bit of bricklaying.... when do we start?

As for the fuel situation, there are predictions from inside sources for £1.50 per litre within 6 months. I cannot imagine how this can possibly be sustained. In the past, people would pay whatever it cost to keep driving their cars. Now, more and more people are actually finding it difficult to afford to put fuel in them.

Vive la revolution!

Price rise will come south from the Scots faster than a government policy change!

Scotland will get hit hard, they'll start to get fuel from North England. That'll cause Northerners to sneak into the Midlands for fuel and the Midlands will raid the south.

So all you Southerners best get up here and help get this wall back up! :P

My OH just got me 2 Jerry Cans of Diesel up the back of Dundee as none near us and I was running on empty with the Disco. It cost £1.60 a litre   But there was no option as I need to get to the horses to feed them. Cannot wait for the Celica's insurance documents to arrive as she can run on optimax which there is plenty of.

The overpriced local jet station in Haddington is currently queded down the road and has been for the past 2 days.... Went and got fuel at Asda dunbar last night, no que and no restrictions.... Thankfully..... as it costs me about £11 a day to get to work and back. And the strike talks seem to have broken down....I dont think we will see the real effect of it till monday or tuesday when 2 days without fuel deliveries will have hit........

Diesel up the road from us in Auchterarder has hit £1.20 a litre ... I heard that in Aberdeen it's reached £1.40 (but that could just be rumour-mongering).

If it hits £1.45 it'll be over £100 a tank for me :-(

Not fun.

The Gov't will already be suffering from the tax they won't get to rip you off for this month, probably new legislation or something like delivery drivers.  What with no-one moving house any more or buying christmas presents, or dying, they are already way short of the sums they planned to squander this year, even with the rise in the price of road fund licence.

It's been 1.22.9 here for ages now - mind you we do have a local chain (the only two garages are owned by the same people) which has been abusing their monopoly for years.
