Injectors
« on: April 21, 2008, 12:57:46 »
Hi all,
My 200tdi is smokey when cold(veg oil doesn't help!) so I am thinking of changing the injectors, are they the same as a normal 2.5 turbo as the price goes up a lot when you look at 300tdi injectors.  Any advice where to get and how much, it's a donor engine so I don't know what it's out of, think it's a 1990 and definatly a defender.

cheers all

Dave

Have you thought about having them refurbed at a diesel specialist. Possably a cheaper option. :D

Only the later 300 injectors are expensive, and that's because one of them is electricery.  If they are listed as differne then chances are they were different, if you fit the wrong ones there might be tears.

Ah, now I re-read it perhaps that's what is meant, 'compared to 300 TDi they are expensive' :-k

Hi all
By the way this is going it sounds expensive, not that I have found out what a 200tdi injector costs! Tried Paddocks website but I could not find 200tdi injectors so I am going to run out my tank of mix veg and diesel and run on diesel and check how it smokes and what colour it is, I'm hoping the Bio option is sending me wrong signals.

Cheers

Mine smoke less on bio,. yours could be cleaning itself though, or the pump could have beenb tweaked.  Ipaid less than £140 for 4 Bisch injectors for the 300TDi (early).
