Changed the clutch on my disco 3.5v8 with LT77 gearbox, on the side of the box there were 2 pipes going to the oil cooler on the front of the car. When I removed these we lost some oil the oil was red in color. Am I right in thinking this is from the gearbox or is it from the transfer box as I need to replace what was lost. Steve
Careful, the clue is there to see, his is a 3.5 V8 and these DO have an oil cooler on the gearbox, the oil is ATF or can be MTF, just not EPanything. It does not however interact in any way with the water radiator, just the hairy sauage behind the grille.

Could be a case of mistaken identity.... What are the recognition points for an LT77 anyway...? :D Skibum
near the back (near the pump)
The gearbox has it's own internal oil pump, as does the Borg Warner transfer box fitted to RRC.
