NFU have always been good to me, however I think it depends on who your local branch is run by to a certain degree...

My parents local is run by members of the local land rover club, so they tend to be pretty cool :)

Adrian Flux for me. They've never had any issues with any of the modifications I've done. Probably not the cheapest, but I can't remember if they insist on an immobiliser. But I agree with RRB, get one for some peace of mind.

Adrian Flux for me too. I'm under 25 and they were by far the best price. The only thing they asked for was a Cat 2 imoperliser.

cheapest i found so far were admiral they were over £60 cheaper than most of the others i tried , do secure direct have a website?
could fit an immobiliser but have no spare cash at mo and it spends most of its time in an alarmed workshop on a secure ind est so at present not really the need, if its out i,m in it

Do people like Admiral and Esure really cover the modifications?

Anyone will take your money, whether they understand what you tell them is a different matter.

Unfortunately you only find out how good they are when you claim, and that's when they start to argue about the mods not being covered.

That was the problem I had though.

I was insured with SIG through a broker.
When I asked about Mods they said I couldn't stay with them and would have to change insurer. My renewal was only a month or so away so I delayed the new mods.
I had to go with Sureterm and lo and behold the policy cover is by SIG.

Only certain brokers are allowed to allow cover on modified vehicles.
Crazy.
The policy I took out was cheaper than the one with the vehicle unmodified.

I list every single modification with them in writing. Secureterm are very knowledgable regarding modifications.

well after lots of searching on the net i,ve got her disco down to £332 fully comp, no mods on hers, is this price good? and mine down to £175 if i went third party and £222 fully comp waiting for quote from sureterm though as this one will be the one that ends up with the mods on and the company that gave me the quote doesnt ask about mods but it lists stuff they dont like in the small print
