Browsing around 'Webshots' this afternoon after loading up the latest additions and found an absolutely amazing photo ('Sound Barrier Breach') of the shockwave as a F-18 - 'Hornet' ( I think)

It is an F-18.  You have to wonder though given that an ac travelling at that speed at that distance is likely to deafen/seriously damage the hearing of the onlookers.  Also given it was taken by the 'photo officer' it is a fairly poor quality image.

Must have been fun though to fly :twisted:
