simple really.....


is the EGR valve need for the MOT

i understand that it should pass without it on the emission side but does the tester chaeck to see if its there or doesnt he care aslong as the emissions are ok???


P.S. do the 300TDI have a CAT or a particle filter???????    im abit confused on this one

AFAIK the EGR valve controls emissions that our MOT test doesn't measure.

Similar question regarding 300 TDI fuel pump tweaking - is this an MOT problem (should it be wound back before test day?). Obviously it would be if you over-did it and ended up with clouds of smoke, but mine doesn't do that.

My 300 TDI just went through MOT without an EGR, as i have completely removed it. It failed MOT, but not on emissions, so i guess no EGR is fine.

no its not a problem both mine are removed never had trouble .think the most they can do is refuse to test iff the pump tamperproof wire on the throttle link has been tampered with. but ive never seen one look at that yet anyway. alan...
