clutch won't disengage
« on: May 09, 2008, 14:24:03 »
My bobtail's been standing for a month, and when I tried to drive it out the garage this morning I found I couldn't get it into gear without it stalling or trying to drive though the garage door!
I suspect the mechanism is rusted up somewhere , but how can I get it to release without stripping the whole thing down?
 Any help much appreciated.

Stick it in 1st and stab the throttle pedal and release whilst slowing going forward, You'll need to do this several times depending how stuck it is, hit the gas and off, hit the gas and off... I would try it on a empty side road and not on the drive or in a confined space..

If that doesn't work then it's a strip down I guess, It did the trick for me when I had the same problem  ;)

As above but  try it with the hand brake on for some extra resistance.
