A Nice guy
« on: May 10, 2008, 16:14:18 »
Hi All

Something strange but nice happened today . :D

My wife and I recycle everything so every couple of weeks we go to caernarfon shopping and on the way we drop off all the glass ,plastic and tins at the recycling centre .

Today we were doing just this when one of the council guys working there came over carrying a genuine standard Discovery 1 spare wheel cover , He said someone had dumped it in the house hold waste skip and did I want it

I explained that it wouldn't fit my 235/85's but I would offer it to the club if anyone wants it .(205/80 16 landrover badge missing few scuffs free to good home)

Nice bloke also said he had a disco so I have plugged the club and with a bit of luck he'll sign up.

Ultimate recycling is reusing something  and there are still descent people around, And I'm about to set up the Barbeque and have a beer or three ;)so all in all today is a good day :D

excellent, i love hearing stories like this. landy owners working together, and it happens a lot too in lots of different ways!
like stopping if another LR is broken down,
calling each other on 19 to see if their CB is on!
greenlane maintenance stuff!
its brilliant the LR community, and im proud to be an owner.
keep it up,
Rob

On the same note, we arrived home on sunday to find on our doorstep a new (well, old but never fitted) track rod end and a brake adjuster set. We've asked to our neighbours up to 2 or 3 houses up and down the street and no one owns up to it. All we can think of is that someone was doing a garage clearout, found them, and having seen Matilda on the drive decided to do a good deed.

I can honestly say that even though we don't need the bits (at the moment) it was most appreciated.

I would like to thank the chap who stopped when the disco broke down on the way back from Driffield. He was in a LWB series and lives in the Lancaster area.

Oh yes, the Land Rover fairies. They bring everything for mine for free......

Well, that's what I tell my wife anyway  But it's strange.... sometimes I get the impression she doesn't believe me. Can't imagine why.
