Well, I've had my 3.9 venturi system since March 1999 and only needed to change the Landi vapouriser for an OMV unit last Summer, I suggest the more frequent backfires, rough running, and cutting out that others have experienced might have been due to worn vapouriser components more than the minor capacity change of what is basically the same engine.
Backfires are usually attributed to changeover from petrol to gas on the rise of revs, when most venturi systems will not backfire if changeover occurs on the fall of revs. This is a minor set up fault at installation, but it seems a lot of people live with this potentially distructive set up.
Yes, I'd like a Prins system, yes extra tanks, but I've lived with it as it is for nine years and I can live with it like that for a couple more yet.
