Jimny king pin bearings
« on: May 23, 2008, 17:40:25 »
Hi, can anyone tell me, what is the correct  size bearing for the king pins?  Is it possible to get the seals elsewhere as i don't want to pay a fortune at the main stealer's.

They are Koyo 30302JR (with seal), the other seals you will have to take out and look at the writing on the side as most good bearing suppliers will be able to get them cheaper than the dealer

In my experience the seals don't keep the crap out of the bearings anyway, I've had as much(or little) milage out of King pin bearings witth and without the seal! Just gotta learn to clean em regularly if you drive in mud and water.

sorry I meant the big seal at the back on the ball/challace? so 30302 is the size, what does the "JR" stand for in the "30302jr"?

OK I have purchased the bearings, gear oil and CV grease. Is there anything nasty I should look out for when changing these bearings?
