TD5 Squealing
« on: May 27, 2008, 15:52:35 »
Just started her up on Sunday and she nows squeals horribly under anything but the gentlest acceleration. sounds like the belts but the noise isnt coming from the front, got the missus to rev it up with my head under the bonnet and is coming from the back of the engine bay. maybe around the turbo?
tightened up all the air hoses etc WD40'd  the belts at the front and its still screaming like a banshee. really really loud when I boot it.
any ideas what it could be?

right pretty much been diagnosed. just been out to have a look around and there is a bolt snapped off the exhaust manifold.
got a funeral that I absolutely must be at tomorrow which is at least 2 hours away, is it going to be drivable like this? or am I going to cause more damage?

Have got similar Problem with mine at the moment cause to much fording the pulleys just after the fan mounted just in front of the EGR inlet where it attaches to the manifold. Run motor for a few seconds put your hand on the pulleys, if that if any of the pulleys are to hot to handle replace them as they are sealed lubrication will have no effect.
currently waiting for new ones.
