Disco 1 Power Steering Problem and clutch!
« on: June 10, 2008, 10:02:36 »
Guys please help

I have a 3 door V8 Disco, there is a small problem which is starting to get on my nerves!! there power steering pump when turning sounds like its grinding against something and more often then not it will turn off and not work, how ever i have worked out if i got through deep enough water all works fine after for a while!!

if anyone can point in the right direction with this would be a great help.

Thanks!!

what relay and electrics? it dont have any :-. check your belt tension and oil level in the reservoir first , the way you describe it working then not could be either belt or low oil

They don't tend to make a lot of noise they just slip, getting them wet helps them grip. The inside of the belt can "glaze" over allowing it to slip.
