Innjector Pump to Injector plastic pipe
« on: June 11, 2008, 16:22:13 »
not sure what it is exactly but it runs off a banjo on the injector pump and goes to the No1 banjo on the injector ( first one as you look in egine nearest front of vehicle). Mines snapped at the end that goes on to the injector banjo but it looks like you can replac with some 8mm internal dia pipe and a couple of clamps??

Anybody know what the pipe is and alternative methods of fixing?
sick of leaking diesel plus its dangerous!!
note my temp repair on the far right of the pipe...bit of epoxy resin!!
Cheers

Andy

Sounds like the spill return line to the IP from the injectors.
I*think* partnumber MJN100910 for less than 30 notes will replace the whole spill return line on injectors to the banjo on the IP (might include the banjo too?)

AFAIK it's the none pressurized side of the system and woudl be safe to use  8mm (or maybe its 6mm) rubber fuel line rated for diesel to replace that section - while you save up for the proper part. People who have done dual tank veg oil  (SVO) conversions have had to replace a few of the plastic fuel lines with rubber counterparts as part of the conversion so they can put in switch over valves - filters - heat exchangers - tee-pieces and what not, so such modification using fuel rated hose is not out of ordinary.

Dont think so, mircocat says thats the Spill rail to filter which is not the arrangement on a tdi. the threaded union on the end is not on the part you want is it unless I have misunderstood what pipe your taking about (from no.1 injector to a union on the IP)

see what your saying now...they are around 17 squid for 200tdi Ive found.
I was hoping to put some in line hose form the union end onto the spliced pipe rather than have to change the whole lot!

oh note that the part number I gave was for a 300tdi.

I been outside to look at mine - 300tdi and it's rubber, looks like 6mm internal bore. That engine was from a disco. The original defender one I have as spare - that's hard plastic.

Do you repair like you want - just use diesel safe fuel line - about 5 quid from halifords for a metre. Keep an eye on it.
