New Wheels
« on: June 11, 2008, 18:09:40 »
hi,
my 1994 range rover's alloys are quite corroded and i keep have to pump up the tyres. I was thinking of getting some cheap steel wheels, can anyone tell me what size i need??

Most Landy steels will fit...  Rostyles, disco rims, gayspokes etc etc.......  I think standard 90/110 rims fit but are narrow like....

Rostyles and 90/110 will be tube type tho'.

For standard-ish tyres try 16x7 modulars, 8 spokes, etc.
OR just pop some Discovery steel/alloy rims on  ;)

I run Disco steels on my Rangie, 7x16 so most tyres fit , mine has 235/85 x 16 on witha 2inch lift and a little cut ! Daughter has Disco steels with 235/70 x a6 on it fit no issues just need a set of steel wheel nuts new ones about £20.00 from Paddocks or someone will have a bucket full !

IIRC my steel wheel nuts cost about £7 for 20 from John Richards Surplus (Hinstock near Telford). That was about 18 mounts ago.

Why not get the Alloys refurbished? It's not that expensive, they look better, you have them already and if you need to change one you will be grateful as they are a hell of a lot lighter.

Just a note..

If you see some nice second hand wheels, comsider that if you remove the tyres your old wheels will weigh in @ £10 each  ;)
Might ease the cost  :D
