whats its tipple!
« on: June 11, 2008, 18:58:19 »
hi all. my parents have had a range rover parked in there drive for years. its a 3.5 v8 injection. its on an "E" plate. my question is, with it been an injection model will it be unleaded or leaded fuel it runs on. if its leaded, how long would it last on unleaded before it burns out the valves. (without using a lead replacement)

cheers, charlie.

 Should certainly be unleaded.
However, there are a few places in the Leeds area where you can still get leaded fuel. I used to fill my old 109 at the garage in Swillington.

Mine's an F plate 3.5 Efi and it's been given unleaded for the ten years I've had it without a problem

IIRC all RR V8's can run on Unleaded, as they are Low compression and have hardened seats due to having ally heads.
supposedly SD1 V8's cant

LPG

Agree that as they are ally heads the seats are hardened inserts it runs unleaded, plus as they were made for export unleaded was available earlier in europe and usa  ;)

Also my handbook says so ............. but it also says it will do 20 odd to the gallon  8-[ 8-[
