It's That Time Of The Year. Again!
« on: June 14, 2008, 13:35:50 »
Yes folks, it's MoT test-time!

My 110 is booked in down at the 'YAS'* workshop on Tuesday morning.

I've used them whilst I've been at the Hospital, even though now they've moved 'off-site' (now they're roughly 3/4mile away from 'BTM Towers' by the footpaths & short-cuts)

This relocation to an industrial unit is due to the redevelopment that's taking place on our site, because at long last we're getting a completely new Hospital
(even though it's allegedly going to have 120-150 less beds, but that's another story entirely!)

I like using 'YAS', as they're strict, but fair, being used to working to a possibly higher standard due to the useage their work might get.

I (& my collegues who use them) feel that because we know them, they won't mess us about :-k

Plus.... work on staff cars is a secondary consideration to them, as they get paid no matter what, as the primary concern of the workshop is Ambulances (both '999' & Patient Transport)
There's none of those niggling little thoughts that they'll find something wrong so the bill can be increased (I'm sure you've all had that thought at times?)

I'm just wondering how many miles the 110 will have covered since its last MoT test (as in the past fortnight, for example, it's done less than 30miles!)

I'll work it out on the day, based on the certificate.

I've only ever had one fail-sheet with a Landie, that was my first one -a shed of a 2A light-Weight, every other one has passed first time.
I hope the 'Heritage' doesn't break that cycle :-\

Good luck with that. I don't know which is worst, MOT or a written exam!

Mine passed last month needing only a new bolt in the top pan hard rod bush.

'L' reg, not bad!

But I know I need some welding, but I have 12 months!!

Hurrah!!!!!!!!
A pass, with no 'Advisories'. So it didn't break the cycle of 'clear-runs'

However, as queried above,  it's only done 4,714miles between tests (today & 14th June 2007)
