Hi again, I will try and be a bit more specific, I am fitting a fuel tank between the back seats and the tailgate on my bobtailed range rover. Does the tank need to have a cover over it and does the filler pipe need covering in. I am trying to get it right before taking it for mot and being refused on this issue. Grateful for any help on this subject, Dave, Norwich.

Don't know where you stand MOT wise, but for scruteneering in 4x4 events these must be a bulkhead between the driver and the tank.

What most do if the tank is inside the passenger compartment is to build a box around the tank, and fit a secure filler cap. HTH?

like crazymac says yes it needs to be covered, by a flame retardant bulkhead, mine failed its MOT on this after the original sprung a leak
