Hi guys, I lost power last week on the motorway, heard a noise followed by slight clunking so I applied the clutch, went onto the hard shoulder and got towed back to Nottingham where my student digs are.
Pushing it back onto the drive with ignition off and in neutral on both sticks it still made a clunking noise as it was moving, it only doesn't when the clutch is applied. I've checked the props and they're fine, so I'm guessing its a clutch/transfer/gearbox problem, I don't seem to be able to get it back into high ratio, and if I try driving it in diff lock it will move juddery but still clunks.
It's a 1988 2.5TD 110 with a LT77 gearbox.
Just wondering if any of you guys would have an idea what would be the problem and better yet if you knew any independant people around the Nottingham area who would tow and repair the vehicle, I want to get it back onto the road asap, it's like staring at an ill loved one whenever I leave the house
