roll cab box
« on: July 10, 2008, 22:27:34 »
hey all,
i just wanted to ask does anyone know where to get these (they have loads of names, basically its them draw toll boxes you see when you walk into a garage)

i am planning on going into the trade this year to carry on the apprenticeship (my 3rd year this year and its time to get into the garage finally :D ) anyway i need one of these boxes to keep all the tools i have and am hopefully going to get :D . i was just wondering if anyone would know where to get them from, cheap (i like cheap!! lol), im looking for preferably a bottom box and top box with a decent ammount of room as i have much stuff to store. i dont care what coulour, condition, make, second hand, 3rd hand etc anthing!, just need somthing that will get me through. any ideas?? have tride ebay but these things are like gold dust (expensive at the end of the day for what is esencially a tool box?)

any help is much appriciated, cheers all :D

Try a few second hand markets, or boot sales.
Saw a Snap-On roll cab a couple of weeks ago, bloke wanted £30.00.  That's a bargain, mine cost hundreds years ago.

If you have access to Costco they have some nice ones for around £3-400 top and bottom boxes with roller bearing drawers.

Similar to this only in black i think

I know that the mobile tool suppliers that come round the garages often have ones that they have taken in as part exchanges which they knock out at reasonable prices! alternatively machine mart can be reasonable!

Hi..All depends on how big a box you want really..

Try Machine mart as already has been said and its worth having a look in Halfords too.

Of course it all depends on how much you wanna spend..

Something like this from the mobile tool dealers I  picked up for just over a grand

Hit it till it breaks then hit it some more !

i was on the brink of having one of these costco boxes, i was after ox of a simlar size but when i saw the price and quality of this box, it seamed the best, i no its still expensive for what is effectivly a box (well not compared to others obviously) but it would last me and id have plenty of space for the tools for half the price off simlar boxes (but mash that box does look nice, plus you got the name :D)

yeh, i thing saving up to get the costco one is certainly a good idea (very flashy box though haha) anyone know how much there up at with the VAT? i have not been there for a few months??

cheers all.
