rear recovery points

hi all
The towbar on my Disco 1 was shot so took, or should i say cut it off but now i cannot use the chassis points to put jate rings on as they are solid with the remains of the bolts from the towbar, tried drilling but that just blunts them.
Any alternative suggestions? Heating has not worked either, was thinking off cutting the Tubular section out and leave the vertical plates with holes on but will i have to get some new tubular section?
Dont want to off road untill i have decent recover points, fronts Ok but just stumped by rear end.

Drill in and fix/weldsome swivel eyes elsewhere on the bumper? not sure as never done it but if the tow ball was a mess then make sure the rest of the bumper isnt as well or it will only the bumper that get pulled out of the mud!

Tried a gas axe? Used sparingly of course.
