Cambelt or chain?
«

Hi all,
My bruv has a 1984 defender 90 2.5 n/a which normally has the Land Rover 12J engine. however he is informed that his truck has the 15J engine made for the Freight Rover.
Does anyone know the timing gear setup? Belt or Chain?
Cheers

Belt, same as the LR engine except the front cover will let in water if you wade it too deep, plus one engine mount is slightly differently positioned.
