Virgin/TeleWest installation Problem
« on: July 19, 2008, 20:05:28 »
I've got a little problem.

We have a recently installed Virgin/TeleWest 'digi-box' in the 'family-room'/bar in our basement

I'm trying to persuade the (Toshiba??) VCR to connect to the 'digi-box'

During the installation menu, the VCR asks for the route of connection (Scart/RF cable/AV cables)
That's okay as it's Scart

However, the VCR then asks for a three digit 'brand-code' for the cable/satellite box

I've been on the phone for 30minutes to Virgin attempting to get a code from them, but the people at call-centre seem to believe that I want the PIN code for the set-up of the digi-box

So........................ does anyone out there know, or can suggest where to find this fabled 3 digit code for the dig-box??

It's a Samsung SMT 2110C

Thanks in advance

Thanks.
It doesn't really tell me what I need to know though.

I think I'll have to keep my eyes open for an engineer doing an installation around here, & ambush him (her) as he (she) return to the van

the vcr wants the 3 digit code of the digibox? in that case what is the make/model of the vcr?  search for that plus the word CODES on the end in google.

If you can tehn try just skipping that step; it's probably just for the remote control so as long as you have the remote for each box then it won't really matter.

put in any number, doesnt matter which and it will think you have put in the correct one, million to one chance you have but at least you can use your kit but with separate remotes

That's what it asks for in the set-up/installation

I'll try searching (after looking at it for the model)

Yeah, but a million to one chance is possible. Now if it was a hundred to one odds, you'd be in trouble :D
