« on: July 20, 2008, 11:33:58 »
I set the alarm on my disco with the bonnet open but with the microswitch depressed, then I lifted my thumb off the swith and the indicators flashed nut there was no siren or alarm horn sounding.  Where is it or how do i test it???  My noral horn on the steering wheel wrks fine.

hi diggerdog. if you have a 300tdi its near where the push switch is. its a round flatish thing nothing like an ordinary horn. not sure how to test it but if its anything like mine its bloody rubbish anyway. was thinking of replacing mine with either an air horn if it would work, not sure on this, are when i replace the regular horns use one of these. again not sure if this would work either but i'm sure someone will be along sortly to say yay or nay

Yeah sorry, should have added, its a 200 td5 ES.  A few times Ive got in and the dash light goes mad, then I realised that means the alarm would have gone off!!!!

Is the alarm the same for the Td5 as it is the Tdi, with a seperate alarm horn???
