it just stopped........

I had gone sbout 2 miles when my 300 tdi kangarood and stopped. It turns over but no sign of firing. Yes i have fuel in it. Could it be the stop solanoid? If it was the fuel pump would it not cough and splutter instead of just stopping?  ](*,)

Could be a number of things including cam belt & fuel filter blockage, have you cracked one of the injector pipes off and turned the engine over to see if the fuel is reaching the injectors?

Phew.

There's nothing quite like the feeling when something that could have been expensive turns out to be dead simple, is there?

If my engine just stopped suddenly, it would have been something needing expensive parts and the engine out!

Had it come off because of work etc. in the vicinity? or was it a loose connection? Check it is back on firmly cos if it comes off again you can bet it will be pouring with rain or very inconvenient.

Make sure it's a good tight fit on the spade connector.

You don't want that falling off when you overtaking something..
