Terrafirma Suspension
« on: July 22, 2008, 14:05:12 »
Hiya

My 90 currnetly has OME suspension on it.

Front
Springs OME751
Shocks OMEN115

Rear
Springs OME762
Shocks OMEN44

The back is starting to sag now, and I think it will all need to be replaced soon.

What are peoples experience with Terrafirma. its about half the cost of OME.

is it half the quality?

Hi Mark,

Someone told me that OME springs have a lifetime warranty, don't know how true this is though? hope so as I run OME also.

Well Devon reckons a year.

Spoke to Jake about them whilst at Billing.

They are 3 years old... I think and look melons.

Talk to Frogs Island about it. They sell both OME and TerraFirma, so can give you the lowdown on both.

I bought my TerraFirma springs from them, but haven't finished the build yet to try them out

The new dampers with extra reservoir look excellent value if they are good quality. But they will only really come into their own if you are racing. If you are only doing trials or challenges, the dampers are not likely to get hot enough to warrant the extra fluid capacity.

Cool. Looks like i might be getting some then.

Ill have to do it in stages though as funds will not allow a straight swap.

Whats peoples thoughs on mixing OME and Terrafirma

I've been running terrafirma springs and dampers on my td5 90 - equ +2" since nov last year -

It's running with Winch and heavy duty bumper - spoke to frogs island before buying to get the right set up.

At same time I removed the anti rollbar from rear so i found it a bit soft on the road at first but after a few miles adjusted ok -

I'm really happy with the set up - great off road and on and they seem to be wearing well.

Discovery "landmark" - td5

Defender TD5 - now being modified -
