I've been trying to find out if my Td5 110 was built with a non-standard transfer box, as the part number on the box is not one that Ashcrofts recognise. Well, a quick letter to Eric Pagan in Traceability at Lode Lane and I have the original vehicle details as ordered by the first owner. I knew that the 110 was a 'heavy duty' spec, but wasn't exactly sure which parts were upgraded to constitute a HD spec.
Amongst other things on the original order:
R380 gearbox - that's standard I guess
Vented disc brakes - only on HD spec ?
Heavy duty suspension - yep, that makes sense. The rear springs had helper springs inside the main springs.
Rear anti-roll bar - HD spec or option ?
Heavy duty axles 3500kg - that's part of the HD spec I guess
Goodyear G90 - not when I got it !
120Amp alternator - is that standard or an upgrade ?
Ratio 1410 - guess that's the transfer box
Uprated transmission - which bits ?
Non cooled no switch - no idea what that means !
Gearbox ratio Group No.2 - hmmmm, is this why I can't get the truck to go over 65-70mph ?
Heavy duty clutch - part of the HD spec I assume
I going to drop Eric another letter and see if he can expand on some of the above - does anyone on here know if the 'Gearbox ratio Group No.2' is non-standard, and is it the transfer or main box ratio ?
