Recovery in Europe
« on: July 25, 2008, 19:38:11 »
Hi

Not exactly massively overland but we are off to France for 2 weeks.

We manage to get European breakdown cover from Tesco for our 1993 200TDI Discovery. But they were the only ones who would cover our car as everybody else said it was too old.

We won't be able to get cover next year with Tesco either as we are past their maximum vehicle age apparently.

How do people who go abroad in old Defenders manage? Just don't get any cover and hope you can fix it yourself or find a friendly farmer who will store the vehicle until you can get back with a trailer???

Just curious... imagine they would spit out their coffee and danish if you phoned up with a historic vehicle!

Cheers

John

We tried the AA... they told us they don't cover vehicles modified for off road use and they don't cover cars over 16 years old.
