the local landy garage has had a set sitting under the counter for 18 months might just haggle and see what I can get them for as they are obviously not selling  ;)

Paddock do them for about £50 a pair ex VAT - I have been sorely tempted but I'm not sure I can really justify them. I don't have a lift or do particularly "extreme" off roading.

On the other hand, shiny yellow bits... :lol:

They do look good, but I wish I had never bought mine! they stop the upward movement of the shock with a bang, when I have a couple of quid I'll change them for +2's and get some longer shocks.

these give an extra 2" of travel

 :lol: Those are drop mounts for lowering the top damper mount, fit them with 15" travel dampers and you would be luck if the dampers arn't fully compressed at nominal ride hieght :lol: They have a purpose, but not for using with longer dampers without seriously limiting the upwards travel of the suspension.

The 15" travel procomps about 14.5" longer than the standard LR dampers, to get them to fit without limiting the upwards movement of the suspension would require the top mounts being raised by around 7 to 8"

As clbarclay said, long shocks are no good with lowered mounts, you need higher mounts to allow for the upward travel. I bought lowered mounts and turrets and have basicaly wasted £100 as the shocks wont compress.

Ahh, but I also want to get a Gulf-spec grille (£56 plus a few quid for matched paint from Halfords). On the other hand I should probably reward it for getting through the MOT first time earlier this month... :lol:

The only worrying part is getting the new retaining rings in - do you need to part the spring from the spring seat to do this, and what's the safest way to do that if so?

yes and u use srping clamps theyre cheap as chips probably pick em up from machine mart and u also have to tae to shock absorber out

or put a small bottle jack between the axle and the chassy to push them apart and release the pressure on the spring  ;)

though you will still need to take the shock out :D

you should really replace them if you are feeling lazy then dont bother but ideally u should

plus 2 or minus 2 good or bad . whatever simple idea adjustablable ones in bound or rebound not pressure in shocks ones already on the market simple same for the back . new idea now someone make them maybe  the  coilovers next step  :-k

I think the heavy duty turrets need matching rings, as they're thicker so need longer studs (found on the HD ones).
