Sorry more questions - whole disco 300 tid and r380??
« on: July 31, 2008, 14:24:06 »
Has anyone dropped a whole discovery 300tdi engine and box into a defender ? I know I will have to fabricate a tunnel and I'll loose the centre seat, I just need to chat to someone who has done it before.

Also I have a disco 300tdi complete that fell over whilst towing, everything is straight apart from the body work, axels are straight etc and the engine is great (my old family run around)

Is it worth swapping the disc breaked axels from the 24 spline 300tdi disco onto the defender.

It currently has the salisbury rear and 10 spline (? I think) front.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if i can answer all yer questions but here goes. Why don't you use the existing box and bolt the 300 to that? Would make it easier.....? I put the 300 TDi axles (Sailisbury rear, Rover front) on my 90 and is well worth the work. Far better brakes and a bit tougher I've been told.
Is it a 90 you're planning this for??
