Anyone use it, if so what do you use to spray it on.

I am in the process, and have the same problem...   :?

I am painting the outside of the chassis with a brush... making sure the stuff gets into all the seams and joins.

I bought the schutz gun from Machine Mart, just trying to find someone with a big enough  :oops: compresser to power it.

I intend to do the old trick of diluting the waxoyl with used engine oil and white spirit to make it spray better.

waste engine oil is corrosive so by diluting waxoyl with it you,ll be cutting the effective use of the waxoyl, the best way is to warm it up by putting the can in a bucket of hot water and every now and then shake the can up to mix it round, once its warm it sprays on easy

I did some waxoyling with a brush the other evening,seams and joints as you say,and never managed to get it so runny before,just left the can in the hot sun.I usually seem to be waxoyling in the winter when you've got to trowel it on !
I use the big can with the high pressure sprayer on top,usually o.k.but the nozzle does get blocked sometimes .
white spirit is best imo ,for thinning it.I've got an old can of what i think is some kind of hydraulic oil which is quite thin,which i might try mixing to do inside the sills.
might be a good idea to cover yourself in plastic sheet too when spraying ! :)

hate to say this but halfords do a kit with a pump action spray gun have not used myself but know some peeps who have i also put mine on with a brush just doing a section at a time

Did mine last month. I borrowed a proper Sealey gun with the lance and special spray head. The Halfruads pump guns are useless.Put the can of Waxoil in a bucket of hot water before you start spraying. I also put a drop of white spirit in the gun, it helped atomise the waxiol and allowed it to creep into all the cracks. I did the unseen bits with clear because it was already open the rest is done in black and it looks very good. I am trying to stick to the roads or clean grass for a while :roll:. I was lucky to be able  to do mine at work over a pit and it was done in a day. You will miss bits  :oops:so I am having another day before the winter sets in, making note of missed bits every time I go underneath.

I use Waxoil's own brand trigger gun. It connects directly to the 5 ltr can and providing the Waxoil is warm it works well with no thinning.

Ive used the Waxoyl supplied pump n spray in the past - I wouldnt describe it as utter rubbish - its OK if you have nothing else, although you have to thin the Waxoyl with white spirit. The nail in the end of the tube to create a 360 degree interal spray pattern IS rubbish! Another solution is a pumpup garden sprayer with hose and ally lance, the shutz type gun fits the small tins of Waxoyl, works well and you can top the tins up from a 5 litre can - its always a drama trying to get inside the chassis sections and get good coverage. Just a note - you dont need a huge amount of pressure from a compressor othewise the small Waxoyl cans bulge alarmingly - bit of a drama if it goes pop!
Cover the floor with a cheap tarp, cover yourself with a clean tarp - sorry old clothes and a daft hat - bin em after!! - the waxolying process is very messy! Protect brake discs with carrier bags or similar. Leave the truck parked on the tarp overnight if you dont want drips on the drive.
I did SWMBO's 90 ages ago but didnt coat the axle cases/ suspension arms - the chassis is fine, but the axles/suspension arms now have surface rust............

i used a little plant squirty bottle to do my old pajero, but with my disco i used a pump up plant spayer with ally lance. i kept the can in the airing cupboard the night before and kept it in a bucket of hot whilst i did it!
