front and rear diffs

Are tehy interchangeable, ie can you fit a front to the rear.

I presume you cant but not sure  :afro:

Short answer yes. But look out for oil fillers in axle casing and diff casing. Some are one and some are the other.......if you get the wrong mixture you end up with no filler plug  :oops:

so i can take the front diff and put into the rear axle.? as it 10 spline all round , presume no oil pick up issues crown wheel facing wrong way so reversing when going forwards etc?

They're interchangable unless your rear is a salisbury. They work the same way so no reversing of drive. Oiling is by splash. As said above check fillers. Don't ask me how I know.  :oops:
