Wow Bargain Time
« on: August 23, 2008, 16:50:39 »
Hi All.

Nipped into the local Halfrauds earlier and they've got 7 peice sets of flex head rachet spanners for £ 20

Needless to say if you've got a trade card they are only £ 16

Hit it till it breaks then hit it some more !

I may have to get some of those.....

I also have trade card, due to "farm" being the name of my house. Mind you I have so many cars/mowers/etc that I think A fleet management account would be appropriate!

I get it through work.

I got some halfrauds own brand dog biscuit brake pads for £7 when the price on the shelf was £23

oils etc however are still expensive.

I have a trade card but no trade

Just go in with recent recites from motor factors and the like, tell them you fix cars for a club, if the manager is ok, bang you get a trade card

Now, about these spanners

I got mine by going into the local store with a couple of engineering NVQ certs, asked the guy at the parts desk if I could have one, I wasn't in the motor trade per se, but I was in the army, and he signed me up there and then.

Apparently all you need to do is prove your are in the trade or could be, so education certs are readily accepted.

After seeing this post I had to buy some  ;)

Went online and reserved them, got to the store and they are still marked up @ £59.99 and the staff had no idea so I had to show them online.

Was all sorted and there are still 3 on the shelf (Mansfield, Baums Lane) I'm happy  :D

Steve

Forgot to say they are discontinued line so limited stocks  ;)
