Which is more fuel efficient, windows down or aircon on?

Windows shut and air con off.

The general concensus seems to be going towards shut and use the aircon but make sure you are not going too cold and that you are on recirc so the compressor will unload

Yep, mythbusters had a go, windows up, aircon on, but if you have climate, even better!!!

Buy a defender, then you get lovely cooling breezer with the windows up. Just love Land Rovers attempt at panel gaps!!!
