I'm a happy bunny..............
« on: September 04, 2008, 16:38:16 »
because I passed my hgv test today.   :D

I got 1 minor and that was on the emergency stop exercise in thier yard. I over shot the cones by a little bit but hey ho. On the actual drive I ended up having to go through a very tight village as the road we wanted was closed by police due to an accident. The examiner said that vilage isn't normally used on test routes and sorts the emn from the boys, so even more chuffed.

Class 1 (artics) assesment is on Tuesday week now. Instructor said if I am good at reversing bendy things then he thinks I maybe able to do it in 3 days. 1 day being test day. If that is the case then I might just be able to afford it and then the open road will be ALL MINE!!!

you want my hubbys licence?

Yes please if he has 2 years experience.

I have tried signing on with agencies today for some work tomorrow to get out there on my own and most people wont touch me as I dont have the experience (2 years) and nobody will touch me as I have to wait for my license to come back, the pass certificate that I was told by the examiner entitled me to drive an hgv from that point onwards is a load of lies!

What a stupid system. Someone has just passed a very high standard of driving test and nobody wants you but some are happy to let you pass, leave you 3 weeks out of a lorry then put you in again. At that point you will start to forget and slip backwards.

Mad stupid country. Can you tell I am annoyed now?

passed in 2001 - spent the time driving Scania flats and Curtain siders - 10 tonners and 24 tonners. Roping and sheeting,
best net is TRY and sign on with an agency    or find a local company, and offer to do a couple of days local for free - get your foot through the door
