Oil temp light autobox 3.9 v8

The oil temp light for gear box has come on and doesn't seem to go out
. yesterday i had to go though some flood water which some came inside my truck and wet the carpets all was fine yesterday. But today when i left work i noticed the warning light on. I have checked the connections and changed the temp switch but the light is still on. Could the the light come on because there water in a connection or could it be something else wrong with the auto box its self. The gearbox it self still changes gear as normal.Cheers Tim

i had the same problem recently on mine, see here http://www.mud-club.com/forum/index.php/topic,63555.0.html. It turned out to be the sensor connection terminals chock full of mud. once i cleaned and dried them the dash light went out.

If you disconnect the wires from the sensor, does the light go out? as mine did, if thats of any help?

Update found a second sensor on the transfer box. The rubber boot was full of water. The light went out when i unplugged it. Going to purchase new sensor tomorrow hopefully. Cheers Tim
