« on: September 09, 2008, 23:50:55 »
Sorry folks for this post but feel I must vent my spleen (feel free to vent yours)
Its the touchy subject of fuel and the envirment, I for one get very cheesed at ripof prices (wax one nether regens would be better) The powers that be say to the EU yes sir, we have no say, Didnt we vote you lot in, why I ask my self do we look after so much of the rest of the world and not some of our own, we sit and moan but whats happening to the GREAT in britton we are getting shafted by the world,  we as 4x4 owners get blamed for every thing , gas guzzlers so what we pay for it, now the powers that be are going to send us to see a proctoalagest and how about you give us £400 per year tax for the privilage of having a nice truck, I was under the impression that what used to be road fund tax was just that not invirment tax on fuel and road tax (or the verchial tax) um thats another good old fasion TAX change to sute, so how about use getting together like the truckers did and do somthing about it, as I no you are all cheesed of with the way things are going

how old is your 4X4?????????

if it's older than 2000/01 then you do not need to worry about the £400 TAX

It isn't the EU. This government has twigged that if they blame the EU when bringing in unpopular policies they can deflect the flak from the general public. Notice how the rest of the EU often has a relaxed attitude to directives? We could easily do the same if government decided to.

You may also notice that none of the useful EU directives (the ones intended to stop us getting ripped off) are mentioned in the media. Let's just say if we ever adopt the Euro then rip-off Britain will take a real pounding as people will find it far simpler to buy from other member states, and the price differential will become very obvious.

just a big tax ripoff in the uk thanks to magie thatcher who started so called global warming
how come when i was at school  we were heading for another ice age now its warming
see the usa don't pay as much for fuel as we do (same fuel but less tax)
also income tax has grown and vat was first set for luxury goods only so what is luxury about food
and kids shoes my teenagers are in adult shoes but still at school and we still pay vat on them
trouble is we keep voting for the idiots
when did a polotician ever take a pay rise that was less or the same as inflation (never)
