Boys names
« on: September 11, 2008, 13:36:00 »
Ok guys and gals, this could be fun/interesting/alarming!

As some of you are aware we are expecting a baby boy soon and we are struggling to settle on a name. We seem to be able to come up with several girls names easily, but I suspect he wouldn't appreciate being called Sophie or Rebecca  We like the idea of something a little unusual, but not so strange as it will cause him aggro later in life.

When we do sit down and try to think of a name we usually find it degenerates pretty quickly into pure farce. So we'll see how long it takes on here

Over to you........

I told my wife we should have either Horatio or Isambard (Seafarer & Engineer).
She wouldn't agree - I wonder if that's why we had girls?

Get's my vote.

Shortened to Rob is better.

IMO I don't like being called Bob, Bobbie, Bobby, Robb, Robby, Robbie

Don't forget to Google your choice before the birth. You don't want to find out after the event that he shares his name with somebody infamous.

Also think of how kids will shorten the name in the playground. We wanted to use William (family links) but it would have been shortened to a rather dubious Will Steele. I suppose it is only as bad as my "burglar's name" - Rob Steele.

Give him a proper name, no fancey crap. The novelty of having a kid with an oddball name like 'ruben' will wear off anyway and then they have to live with it.

I always figured if i had kids i would pick names from the simpsons.
