Regional rep
« on: September 27, 2008, 11:07:11 »
Somebody on this site has decided to delete me as regional rep, I've been democratically chosen by the West Midland members to be the representative so what right does this person have. I sent a few of the Admin / moderators a p.m yesterday morning because I thought this might’ve been a mistake, none of them have yet replied hence this public post.

You probably have not had a reply yet as the people you have sent messages to have not had the opportunity to look at and discuss with the other admin as yet, I can't say exactly as I haven't received any messages and I do not know who you sent messages to.

This matter was discussed recently and it was felt that it may look a bit odd when the closing date for nominations has not been reached yet for the proposal of a new regional rep, I understood that you had been sent a message explaining this and that it would be best to wait for this date to pass before changing group memberships around on the forum. If this is not so I apologise on behalf of the admin.

Please be patient, as you say it is a democratic process which we are trying to comply with.

Thank you.

The deadline for nominations will be Sunday 28th September 2008. Dependant upon the number of nominations, a poll will be opened on the 29th September for the Regions members to vote on the candidate/s. The new Regional Rep. will be in post for the meeting of the 13th October 2008.

The next West Midlands Regional meeting will take place on Monday 13th October. 2008 at the Church Tavern, Church Road, Perry Barr, Birmingham, West Midlands  B42 2LA. Tel. 0121 3564389

Meeting starts at 19:30 hours, but if your eating, please be early (19:00 - 19:15) so that we can order all at the same time for bigger savings.

As discussed at the meeting of the 8th September, I'm standing down as the Regional Rep. and therefore nominations are invited for the position.

The deadline for nominations will be Sunday 28th September 2008. Dependant upon the number of nominations, a poll will be opened on the 29th September for the Regions members to vote on the candidate/s. The new Regional Rep. will be in post for the meeting of the 13th October 2008.

Post your nominations on this thread.

New Regional m-c members always welcome.

We look forward to seeing you all.

Regards

Chris

I suggest that you check how many people have been put forward, if there is only one, a PM to myself or another Admin will ensure that you will gain your title. It was, and I must point this out, NOT the admin or the moderators that made the deadline the 28th Sept, but the current regional rep.

To whom it may concern  Can you please point me in the right direction of the poll which you say opened on the 29th September.  As there was only one nominee I don't see why there was a new poll opened.  Or are there other candidates?

The local section should be setting up it's own poll if there is more than one candidate. As Admins and Mods we are not privvy to any PM's or (in this case) the last meeting.

Andy was given a fairly simple instruction above, and he's not contacted myself, therefore I can ONLY assume there are more candidates.

So can someone please let me know how & where to vote as this is all getting a bit political for a 'family & friendly' club, as far as I was aware andygod was the only nominee & every one was more than happy with that.

Why was he given the Rep's title & then it taken away ?  seem really odd to me  :?

I look forward to some one explaining this

Thank you
John.

The title was applied to him as far as I know by someone, although I don't know who, who was under the impression that as the only member put forward the title would be his by default.  However, it was then pointed out that the nomination period hadn't ended yet, and so the title was removed until such a time as it had.

Err... that's about it really,   no flying saucers, hidden deity marriages or anything else.

Sorry and all that ...  errr... I know, the person what did it was Lord Lucan

As the situation has now been debated to the full would it be possible to delete this whole thread.

Well let me just say here that it wasn't the Moderators or Admin staff who started the thread and brought it into the public domain, however by leaving it to stand it does put the club in a good light to show that we are democratic in our behaviour and have a regard for doing things correctly.
