Riveting on body panels.....
« on: October 06, 2008, 21:56:00 »
I cough my nearside rear panel offroading the other day, the panel that the rear light is attached to, and popped a few of the rivets..... do you just pop a few rivits back in? I cant get to the inside so does it matter that there is no washers on the inside? do you have to use a special type of rivet i.e. stainless, alloy, Land Rover rivets etc?

The panels are both steel, so no washers are required or AFAIK were ever used, but if youtake the light out you can get to the back of them.

Hello Mate,

I've wacked mine off a couple of times,
I've just rivited them back on,
no problems at all.
the second time though I had to use bigger rivits so if I were you just get bigger rivits and drill out to the bigger size that fits the rivit.

Cheers...........
