Breather pipes
« on: October 07, 2008, 02:54:49 »
I've been having a look at the breather pipe kit that Bits4Vits do, does anyone know the actual diameter of the pipe, as it's only bog standard bundy pipe/instrument air line, with a push fit joint, I figured if I knew the pipe size, I could get a few lengths from Thorite, as I pass them every day and it's only cheap.

I got myself sorted, plenty of breather pipe, clear not black as is B4V's, not that colour matters, couldn't get a 5 port push fit connector, so got 3 equal tees and a straight elbow, which will make exactly the same but with less radius curves on the pipes, all together F.O.C. lucky me  :D. But if it's of any interest to anyone else, the pipe size is 8mm and it's bog standard air line, it fits the breather pipe as snug as the proverbial.

Credit where credit's due though, the "how to" photo's supplied by B4V are very good, although I'm not over keen on drilling the bottom of the snorkel to feed the breather, unless well sealed it's a weak point for water ingress.

You're right he's drilled the pipe in at the top, I thought he'd drilled the bottom and fed it up the snorkle, I must have had my Ben Turpin eyes on when I first looked at it, I'll get my hat and stand in the corner for a bit then eh!
