What to do with the disco?
«

My new bob tail pick up , is coming along well and iv started to think about what to do with the old truck? i what to have a disco still for the dog and general space but 2" lift big mud tyres and all the extra heavy steal is getting expensive / impractical to hall round town every day. and i don't need two monster off roaders.
so do i ...
Sell the truck complete and buy a standard disco hopefully a little new than the last if im lucky? Its still farly tidy and strait and it has the name brand bolt on's on it .( scorpion/qt/BFG... ect)
OR
Do i take it apart and fit what standard bits iv got from the bobtail build and sell the bits off. Then maybe the Disco and get some thing new again?
And who though building the pick up would cause so many questions.
the trauck..

If you do decide to sell one of them, you may be better off getting a normal car for day to day use and keeping the remaining Disco as an off road toy. A decent estate will cope with the dog and space requirements, but shouldn't cost as much to run.
Sensible bit out of the way - if you decide to buy another Disco then I'd say to look at late 300TDI or early TD5. Don't go later than 2000 as tax hikes will be horrific when they finally hit. There are a lot of TDIs being broken for spares now so you can add most or all of the dealer option parts that LR offered - mine now has the tweeters from the next model up and uses part of the front foglight loom to control the roof spots, for example.

If I was you I'd try and sell your Disco as is, and look for a shiny, standard one. If you can't sell it, then consider taking all the bits off.

so the disco dosen't want to sell, i don't think the time of year helps, so im looking at taking the off road mods off and selling them off separately.
my question to you all is
what do you think things are worth second hand?
dose any one know of a way of posting big heavy stuff round the country?
and is any one interested in any bits?
i am looking for ideals on what you maight think of paying for...
Lot 1
Scorpion +50mm
progressive springs 12 months old
- pro comp shocks 2 years old
- Hd fount turrets and rings 12 months old
- Rear cones 12 months old
lot 2
Scorpion Racing winch bumper, 8500pound winch with remote solenoid, is it worth selling the winch separately? its all been painted a few times and the arrms are a little of strait but as you can see from the pics it perfectly servisable.
lot 3
Hd rear bumper tubular with integrated tow bar and tank guard. the absolute nuts made from 50mm buy 5mm thick red steam pipe.
lot4
Rap round diff guards, pair. i may well keep them for the new one?
lot 5
mill servise Rock/ tree slider mount to body and/or chaisy galve and as good as new
lot6
Safari snorkel 200tdi with. 200 air box, k&n and poip work for the 300. and had a stainless grill. a few scrapes
lot7
5 x BFgoodrich Muds 235/85 R16 Steel modular's, 4 inner tubed. about 1/4 worn maybe less.
lot8
National lumma twin battery system with in cab monitors 9 old and looks a bit messy but works fine and very usefull

Why not do as your doing and selling all the metal bits that you dont want to lug around town, put the bits from the bobtail disco onto the green one then keep the green one. That way you have reduced the weight of the green one to make cheaper on fuel?
