the joys of ebay
« on: October 13, 2008, 20:55:38 »
hello,
i thought i had sold a set of five tyres on ebay for £340 which was a bargain for them as the goodyears and brand new,

but the people who have brought them arnt replying to my questions, what do i do?

the auction ended three days before the landy rally so i simply didnt have time to get that sorted so i spoke to them and they said yeah no worries wait untill you get back, ive been back for 3 or 4 weeks now
i need rid of these tyres as the only place to keep them is in the back of the 90 which is less than ideal on already tired suspension when i want to go off-roading

cheers kieran

Thats the world of ebay......! ](*,)

There's not really a lot you can do.

You have to give them a set period of time before you report them as a non paying bidder, leave negative feedback & let ebay make a ruling.

Give them time and hope for a genuine ebayer to emerge from this. (They maybe away, ill.... etc)

I have also suffered on ebay - just have a little read through the terms and conditions and hopefully it'll all work out for the best.

Although it is a legally binding contract....can you really be bothered to chase it up through the courts....!

Maybe send them one more request for them to contact you and state if no reply in x??x amount of days I will be leaving negative feedback, informing ebay (so as to retrieve my lost fees ) and putting the wheels back up for sale.

I had something similar recently, there should be a link to report a dispute to ebay somewhere on your 'My ebay' page - report it, I think they give them 7 days to resolve then you should get the listing fee credited and you can re-list them.
Best part is you can leave positive feedback for the person who messed you about - not possible to leave negative feedback anymore - how ridiculous!!

Sellers cant leave negative feedback anymore, just learned this!!

What I did was got his name and address, as you do from the invoice, put his name and address into the BT phonebook, and phoned him at home explainig that he had bid to buy, and I had his address so I could 'deliver' them and 'collect'  :scold: my money ay the same time......I got the old " How did you get my number" and " I was literally just on paypal to pay for them".........Oh really!!

Funnily enough a few minutes later......payment!!!

Stick em in your dads Disco

Put an unpaid item dispute on them. All fees will/should be refunded. At 9.9% that is a few quid  :(
