:lol:wonder what he would do with a Series One, cos you can get them with one wiper only, plus they don't park until you twiddle the knob to move the wiper out of the way.

Series 1 and 2 with individual motors can't fail for a non working motor as you can manually operate the wiper blade from the drivers seat (nothing in the rules says it has to be electric!).  Doubtless it'd confuse some testers not experianced with old vehicles but if you won such a machine its not a bad idea to pick your MOT station carefully - I use one that regularly does classic/vintage machinery so knows how to test them properly - I get a fail if I deserved it, not when I didn't.

Hopefully I can fix it before the test but until I take it apart.....


driver side ok, but nearside just moves up an inch then flops back down

I'm an expert on this now!  It will fail on:

Nearside Windscreen wiper not operating over a large enough area to give an adequate view (8.2.1c)
