Another Mud Club baby very soon.

Sarah goes into hospital tomorrow (23rd) to be induced. Because her blood sugar levels have been a bit 'wobbly' they are inducing 2 weeks early. Doesn't seem long ago when I was telling you she was pregnant  :shock:

Fitted the baby seat base unit doodah in the Merc today  :shock: He'd better not throw up all over the back seat  :evil: :lol:

I wanted a cubby box in the 90, but looks like a centre seat is going to be needed  :lol:

Well, after a long drawn out labour and no sleep since Thursday, our baby boy was born this morning at 4.28 with the help of forceps [sp?]. Awkward little mite... start the way you mean to go on maybe??  :roll:  :lol:

Mother and baby are being transfered to a normal ward to monitor, so I've come home to get some sleep. If I wake up before sundown, I will go back in this afternoon.

Still not decided on the name though!

My other son is now 13, so been a dad for a while. But remembering the basics with a baby is testing the grey matter a bit  :lol:

Sarah and Oliver (finally made a choice!) are now home and well after a rather traumatic time. She lost a lot of blood and was rushed back off the ward ready for theatre. All a bit scary, but she was put on a drip and all is now fine.

TV was rubbish in January and I had a new years resolution to have a beer free month...........................
Brought my son home today, 10lbs 3 an and emergency op to bring him into the world.
Theatres are pretty intimidating places :(

Forceps deliveries and big babies are no joke - I still wince when I see a set of salad tongs, although the decorating scissors don't hold any horrors for some reason :shock:

Congratulations to everyone, well done to the girls - I'm proud of you - treasure every second, and don't start wishing their little lives away.  And when you're up feeding or changing nappies at quarter to four in the morning, you're not the only one - it just feels like it ;) - and the night feeds don't last forever, they just feel like it too.

Many people have said to me that parenthood just gets worse - I just look on each stage of my little boy's life as a different set of challenges.

10lbs 3ozs??? That brings tears to *my* eyes. Dread to think what his mother felt  :shock: Best wishes to you both. Hope mums OK.

We had solid crying for 5-6 hours last night. Pretty distressing when you've tried everything to calm him, but he just gets more and more wound up. The midwife was in this morning and said it was not uncommon and "things will get better"!

But as you say, grin factor 10 when they are calm and peaceful.

The local hospital were telling us how last week they delivered 70 babies in 72 hours  :shock: Mostly they would expect around 15 per day. I have nothing but praise for everyone we met who worked at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital. They were all brilliant.
