Volvo syndrome?

Land Rover 90  I Had a short with the Cigar lighter illumination lamp and now the Bl@@dy side lights come on with the ignition :?
anyone got any idea's please?

sounds to me like the cable that feeds the socket from the ignition has got hot and melted, and has also melted the feed to the sidelights and is shorting between the two.

Hi there thanks for that ! Any idea where i should look? ie on steering column or elsewhere?

trace it back from the side lights i had a simeler problem whith the brake lights and it terned out to be an earth
