Parking sensor help
« on: October 23, 2008, 21:00:46 »
I have just bought Winchwoman a VW Bora.
As the back cant be seen from the drivers seat, I was going to fit a set of parking sensors.
Any tips, seen some on Ebay from £15 any done it or know any thing about them?
Remember it will come in handy even if you never use it

Hi ya

I fitted a set I purchased from Maplin into the back of my Disco. (they were on special offer at the time   :P )

Very easy to fit. They came with their own hole cutter. I just tapped the cable for the reversing lights so the bleep only works when you are going backwards!

I wouldn't be without it now.

I used to run a Bora as a company car, found it to be quite comfy.  Anyway, I actually found it very easy to park as the boot is quite stubby and high, however I suppose if you are used to hatchbacks then it can be a bit different.

I have seen, somewhere, parking sensors that fit on the inside of the bumper like a tape - don't have a link tho unfort.
