My transfer box has a lot of forward/backwards play in high box. Both high and low work fine as does difflock. It occasionally jumps out of low box. It was fine when I bought the truck.
Could it be the mounts? Or linkage?

How offen do you use them gears. If not use alot they tend to jump out

A lot! Most weekends t get used. Used to be fine though, its just the slack thats a bit weird. I don't remember it doing it before.

try changing the t.box oil the spray all linkages with wd40 after cleaning them could just be full of mud :D
